DRILL DESCRIPTION AND SET UP

We create a large square in the middle of the field and use both main posts. We start with a 10 v 4 possession game with the goal for the attackers to maintain the possession and for the defenders the ball recovery and counterattack. We have 6 external offensive supports and 4 against 4 inside. There are an additional 2 defenders initially (red) who do coordination drills behind the opponent's support (see picture) until the ball is recovered from their team and a 4v3 counterattack occurs in the area of the whites, either on one side or the other. The GK is also operating due to the possibility of waiting assembly exercises or coached by the Goalkeeping coach.

Let's face it! Realism is an element that should not be missed in any training session.

Nowadays, training tends to be repetitive without giving the necessary emphasis to detail. And to some basic football habits, every coach should emphasize not only the quality of the energy but also the way it is achieved.
