How to mark an opponent who comes from afar - 1v1 near to the line

When the opponent comes from afar and is close to the line The defender has to:

1) To run at speed and reduce the distance between them In this way, it leads the opponent away from their dangerous defensive zone, thus reducing the chances of scoring a goal. Also resets the stress of a marking that would lead to a dangerous foul or penalty position

2)To lower and bring his body to a sideways position In this way he has the ability to keep his balance in case of a dribbling by the opponent, he can also be able to develop speed, not lose contact with the opponent and the ball and be able to intervene if necessary

3)To lead the opponent to the line The body position of the defender should be such that his chest shows the direction that should lead the opponent, and at the same time leave him no choice. "The line is our teammate"

4)To intervene decisively when the above conditions are created. Defender should attempt to mark standing or tackling when appropriate conditions are created * The placement of teammates and opponents also plays a role in all of the above *
